Pike's Peak is different but similar. It is put on by a different group and they don't compete side by side. Also, it is a timed race, but it is a twisty road course. The peak is on my list of races I want to do, along with the Baja 1000. Have you seen the result of going off at PP? There is a famous video of a car doing a "big off" - the driver survived.
