Bill this is a fantastic post. Loved it.  There is so much wisdom and science in it. Both you and Pam did things the right way from the start. "I sent a message... I told her it sounded as if we had a lot in common. The next day I got a pert message: “Yeah? Like what?” So…I told her like what and we began to correspond. It became fun very quickly. " People including me got things backwards. Most relationships starts with romance (dopamine rush), once the dopamine high wears of, if they don't have a lot in common, attraction becomes distraction and repulsion. True "soul mate" is one who shares the same core values, what ever they may be. As long as the core values are the same the couple could be totally different , fight like cats and dogs and still be madly in love and be very happy. The Brain chemical is oxytocin the love molecule. Oxytocin = crazy glue. Dopamine = crack. "Rules for happiness: something to do, someone to love, something to hope for.”― Immanuel Kant .
