You're welcome- thanks for visiting! I take a photo from that same spot above the marsh nearly every time we hike. It's the same view as the autumn view on my private message post. I was thinking about doing a change of seasons post sometime. Become a member now and get a free tote bag.

Kzoo winter has finally arrived in the mid-Atlantic states, it was 21F this morning, but it looks as though we are going to warm up again for a few days maybe up to 50F. The days before Christmas and New Year's were warm, short sleeve weather, up to 76F. Kzoo do you suppose this fella ever lived anywhere it was so cold your nose hairs freeze? I remember walking to school (about 3/4 of a mile) and it wouldn't take long before you could feel your nose hair freeze, so cold outside it hurts. They may have given us a late start to school, but they wouldn't cancel, not in the northeast. When I lived in the south, midway between Richmond and Petersburg, a dusting would close the entire area down, including the government and shopping malls. It IS funny how the south and mid south react to a snowflake. But you know, it's kinda like that here too, when there's no southerners around to impress. The weather forecasters all piss and moan about boo fucking hoo, more snow, and everybody whines about the cold. OK- it's a pain in the ass to commute in a blizzard, and it gets tiresome to have to layer on three different strata of wool just to get you to the corner liquor store, but it's the north country! Sitting in silence in the woods is always a magical experience. Once when out walking in a wood with a friend, I had to ask her to be quiet as she was constantly chattering away. It was aural pollution!
