3 uncles and an aunt were in the D-day- all survived- the 5th uncle was my dad and he did the Pacific Theater as a B-24 bombardier- distinguished flying cross - ect for his role in that- My mom's dad was WW1 along with my dads dad- also ww1 in the trenches-

My family was in the Pacific. My dad was on Guadalcanal, New Britain , Peleliu . my uncle( who i never met ) was killed going ashore on Tarawa . SEMPER FI to all warriors , God bless

I know one guy that did the invasion. Such a humble guy, but you know he has seen and done things that no one should have had to do. May God bless him

Thanks for this Post Pal, all those Brave Young lives Lost! There is major TV coverage over here in the UK this morning, of the Memorial Services in Normandy. Many veterans of the Greatest Generation, making their 1st and possibly last visit there since 1944. They should never be forgotten Please visit my Blog "Older but no Wiser"

A day that will forever be in our hearts and minds forever. My thoughts go out to all the men and women who served and to their families. Hubby has been watching about this all week on TV. I hope you have a great day
