What To Do If Your Not In A Holiday Spirit??? I was thinking about this very subject this morning as I was sitting down to eat my breakfast. What to do with my self in order to feel the Holiday and or Christmas spirit? I do not feel ordinarily. This is a very tough subject for me to deal with. It's not because of loneliness for I will have my and sister and hopefully my two granddaughters to be with this Christmas. But it's that I somehow feel a sense of the whole immenseness of what this Holiday means is very overwhelming emotionally for me. I don't know if it has anything to do with the Christmas's of my past. Which by the way weren't so terrific. But of the true meaning of Christmas and what it means to celebrate really celebrate it the way it was meant to be celebrated. Without all the gift giving, and pretense of gladness, that other's who may or may-not be on your lists of friends or family to be around never mind be with on this special day. Think about the positive things in your life and what you have to be thankful for. Think of the people that are less fortunate then you are. If you are Christian, look up for your answwers. Peace be with you and your family Happy Holidays

One of the problems we have is that the media and advertisers try to create this great feeling about Christmas so that they can separate us from our money. That is the most polite way I can put it. It was a special time of year when we were children because there was the expectation that we would be getting presents. Because of this media frenzy we are supposed to have this carry over once we become adults. Yet as adults we know the world is much more complicated than what we thought as kids. Therein lies the problem. We are faced with reality we know which is that each day has its own joys and pain and some days are better than others. This comes in conflict with the feeling the media is trying for us to have. You have a loving family and I know that there are days you can remember that weren't holidays which were very special. What made them special was that we were with the people we loved. No entity manufactured that for you. It was just natural. The Christmas season could be compared to those energy drinks which are filled with caffeine and sugar. They give a real charge after you drink them only to have you crash a couple of hours later. Your love for your family and their love for you doesn't vary by season. It is constant. Just remember that and tune out all the other noise. YOU ARE A GOOD MOTHER AND A WONDERFUL GRANDMOTHER.
